2013 Cadillac XTS
The 2013 Cadillac XTS comes with a three.6-liter V-6 engine with variable valve timing and direct injection, lovely for about 300 bhp and 264 lb.-ft. of torque. Known as the LFX engine internally, it features aluminum construction for light weight. An integrated cylinder head and exhaust manifold saves an addition 13 lb. or so, and the composite intake manifold shaves another five.5 lb. The transmission is a 6T70 6-speed automatic from Hydra-Matic. An available Haldex all-wheel-drive process can deliver power to all contact patches, while an electric limited-slip differential further controls output to each of the rear tires. Fuel economy for the all-wheel-drive XTS is estimated at 17 city/27 highway. The standard front-wheel-drive version is estimated at 17 city/28 highway.
Cadillac the new XTS as the only luxury sedan equipped with Magnetic Ride Control on its suspension, standard. Using electronically controlled shocks containing magnetorheological liquid (in lieu of traditional valves), the shock absorbers on the XTS can alter damping in as tiny as milliseconds. Iron particles in the liquid react to magnetic charge, increasing damping resistance instantly. This matchless process is matched to a MacPherson-type front and linked H-arm rear suspension with air shocks to provide direct steering feel and driving feel over varying surfaces.
